Determination of Blood Pressure
Plch, Miroslav ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
The thesis includes a general introduction to monitoring and measurement of blood pressure of horses, the design of algorithms for pressure curve detection and the calculation of respiratory variabilities in mechanical ventilation under anaesthesia. The first two chapters focus on anatomy, on characteristics of blood flow and on vascular system. Then it deals with the measurement of blood pressure, monitoring of a horse under anaesthesia and it describes particular thermodynamic parameters. In the following part of the thesis, the methods of pressure curve detection are described. The last part contains the description of an algorithm designed for detection of pressure curve of horses in the environment of the program LabVIEW. The program calculates, displays and saves variabilities of systolic pressure, pulse volume, pressure amplitude, pulse frequency, peripheral resistance and vascular expansion from the detected values.
Simulation of electroporation effect in the heart for various application catheter designs
Kafka, Roman ; Hemzal, Martin (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
This master thesis describes modeling of electric and thermal fields in tissue during cardiac ablation based on irreversible electroporation. It is about basic principles and laws that applies to this problematics. Further, it describes the electric and thermal difference between DC and AC electroporation pulses. The follow-up work presents many simulation models of new cardiac catheters developed with research team.
Conductive model of human tissue for electroporation purposes
Zelinková, Kateřina - Šarlota ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
This thesis solves the issue of the distribution of the high voltage pulse at the electroporation of the arget ablation zone. For futher examination of influence electroporation was necessary to first understand theoretically electrical charakter of cells and replace with basics eletrical circumferential elements (RLC). Based on this knowledge, theoretical prerequisites for experimental measurements were derived. Theoretical assumptions were then verified by experimental measurements. In the measurement, the assumptions found were confirmed, but significant performance losses were identified. A new catheter was designed to reduce the loss. Because the production of a new catheter is not economically disadvantageous, the properties of the new catheter were first tested using the simulation cloud environment SIMSCALE, where the heating of the heart tissue after the application of the electroporation pulse was monitored. Furthermore, the electroporation process was simulated in the FEMM program, where emphasis was placed on the propagation of cardiac tissue tension.
Determination of Blood Pressure Parameters for Ventilation Control during Anaestesia in Horses
Horský, Martin ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
The present work deals with the issue of hemodynamic monitoring of blood pressure in horses during mechanical ventilation in anesthetized horses. Result of this work is an extension to the application Datex-Ohmeda S/5 Collect, which from the pressure curve provides values needed for optimal ventilation. Initial chapter provides a general physiologic introduction. It describes the definition of blood pressure, cardiac cycle and description of the pressure curve. It also deals with the hemodynamic parameters such as pulse pressure, stroke volume and their variabilities. In the second chapter is described methodology of measuring blood pressure in horses. Both, noninvasive and invasive methods are included. The third chapter analyzes fluctuations in blood pressure during ventilation. The last fourth chapter describes the implemented extension module which is designed to monitor hemodynamic parameters of the pressure curve.

Odběr spermatu pomocí katetru a jeho využití při výtěru štiky obecné (Esox lucius L.)
PLAŇANSKÝ, Tomáš
The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare quality of northern pike sperm collected by different methods. First method is collection of stripped sperm by abdominal massage of the belly. Second method is collection of stripped sperm with special catheter to eliminate sperm contamination by urine. The last method is collection of testicular sperm. Differently collected sperm was evaluated and compared its quality. The main observed parameters were sperm volume, spermatozoa concentration, spermatozoa motility and velocity and osmolality of seminal fluid. Sperm samples were used for eggs fertilization. In fertilized eggs, the fertility of eggs and larvae hatching rate were observed.

The Role of Imaging in Surgical Inflammatory Complications
KOPRDOVÁ, Eliška
The Role of Imaging in Surgical Inflammatory Complications Interventional radiology is a dynamic and fast developing specialization. Development of new methods and instruments extends possibilities of mini-invasive treatment of a wide range of illnesses. Introduction of a specific percutaneous drain in case of abdominal abscess in clinical practice counts among most important progress of 1980s concerning this field. The percutaneous drain is relatively fast and simple method and it belongs to urgent interventional operations. Indication for the percutaneous drain is a treatment or a palliative treatment of sepsis accompanied by an infected lesion. Most authors agree that there is no absolute contraindication of the percutaneous drain for pathological liquid collection. Therefore, this type of drain may be considered as a method selection. It is possible to execute it even before a possible surgical operation. The goal of my work was to assess retrospectively the experience of the Radiological Department of the Teaching Hospital in Plzeň Bory concerning this field within the selected period of time. For this reason, a single-purpose database has been created, which contains data of patients who underwent the percutaneous drain under the supervision of the CT or UZ within a certain period of time. Such data has been processed statistically. The work did not prove any of the hypotheses of mine that interventional techniques may in all cases substitute surgical operation while treating suppurative inflammatory lesions in the area of chest, abdomen and soft tissues. The percutaneous drain brings unquestionable advantages into clinical practice. Among most important ones, there are a removal of a surgical operation risk and of total anaesthesia, above all in the acute phase of illness. Simplification of post-operative care, shortening of the average hospitalization as well as economic advantages. This concerns a method that should always be considered as the first step among possible treatments of infected lesion.
